N2eX to launch derivatives in next six months

N2eX, the power exchange venture run by Nasdaq OMX and Nord Pool, will launch futures “within six months”, according to Geir Reigstad, president of Nasdaq OMX Commodities.

The venture is an offering for the UK power market on which spot contracts started being traded on January 12. Reigstad said that “everything is in place” for derivatives to be traded.
