Wind is a senior figure in the futures industry, having worked in the market for nearly 40 years. He is also senior vice-president of Penson Worldwide, the holding company for several of the group’s businesses.

He joined Penson as a senior vice-president in November 2002. Before that, he had worked at Cargill since 1972 in a variety of trading and management positions, latterly as senior vice-president of global financial markets. In that capacity he ran the firm’s equity, interest rate and FX trading.

He has been a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Chicago Board of Trade and is a member of the National Futures Association and Futures Industry Association.

Penson hired Wind to help build its financial futures business. He also worked closely with Integrated Trading Solutions, a subsidiary that provides direct access trading systems for equities, options and futures.

Daniel Son, the president and co-founder of Penson Worldwide, said Wind had left “to pursue other things. We will miss him and were pleased with his performance.”

He said there were no immediate plans to replace Wind.
