OptionsCity sells software for options trading and market making, while Patsystems specialises in derivatives trading, exchange and risk management systems.

Chicago-based Patsystems gave no explanation for Kenny’s departure, except to say that it was his decision to leave. Sam Berry has replaced him.

Kenny began his career as a floor manager with Geldermann in 1980 and moved to the firm’s international sales team. He was a vice-president in institutional sales at Harris Bank, ABN Amro and Prudential.

In 2000, Kenny joined Patsystems as managing director of the Americas, where he was credited with playing a significant role in its expansion.
