Chicken confirmed the move, but refused to say what role he would take.

He was chief operating officer of Icap’s electronic broking arm for nearly 10 years, and moved to his market connectivity role in February 2010.

Chicken chairs the operations group of the International Capital Markets Association’s European Repo Council.

Liffe has recently reorganised its back office teams, asking Mark Ibbotson, previously COO of global derivatives, to lead implementation of its new clearing house venture as executive vice-president of global clearing.

In May, Liffe said it would stop using LCH.Clearnet for clearing.
