SunGard’s Stream GMI post-trade solution has begun allowing CME Clearing members to use its trade capture and bookkeeping processes to clear Eris Exchange’s interest rate swap futures through CME.

SunGard is hoping for an upswing in its listed derivatives business following Dodd- Frank stipulations for interest rate swap products to be centrally cleared.

Eris Exchange has traded more than $18bn in notional value for interest rate swap futures since it opened in August. The exchange’s rate swap futures are eligible to be cleared by all Class A CME Clearing members with more than $50m of net adjusted capital. Firms are not required to contribute capital to a segregated guarantee pool.
