Citigroup has continued its aggressive push into exchange-traded derivatives sales and clearing under global head Jerome Kemp with another hire from JP Morgan’s prime brokerage unit, where Kemp worked until October.

Antonio Reyes Miras, former head of e-trading at JP Morgan, will join Citi as global head of electronic execution for listed derivatives.

“This [appointment] is part of a concerted effort to catch up with our rivals,” a source at the bank in London said. “You’ll be hearing a lot more from us in this area. We want to be big.”

Miras spent 12 years at JP Morgan. He will report to Kemp. Both are based in London.

Citi also recently hired Michael Zimits, previously with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, as global head of third party clearing. Zimits, based in New York, also reports to Kemp.
